Encouraging Phrases, Compliments, Insults, the Functions of Kedụ and Ka, and the Various Ways to Ask Questions in Igbo

Ndewo! (Hello!) Daalụ (thank you) to everyone who joined the February meeting this past weekend! If you're new to the club, nnọọ (welcome)—we’re thrilled to have you! You are now part of a growing community of people worldwide dedicated to preserving Igbo culture through language learning. Everything that was covered during the most recent meeting is below:
Here’s what we covered:
We had a very special guest, Amarachukwuka Okafor, an Igbo culture and language instructor based in Nigeria with over five years of teaching experience. She studied Igbo at the Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo, Ebonyi State, Nigeria and has a great passion for promoting the Igbo language. She offers both online and offline classes, and you can contact her directly through her social medias or via email at [email protected]
🗣️ Amarachukwuka taught us how to express encouragement and affection through compliments and pet names. She also introduced us to a few common insults that you could hear in Igbo culture. In addition, she taught us the interrogatives, specifically asking 'who,' 'what,' 'where,' 'when,' 'why,' 'which,' and 'how' questions in Igbo.
🖥️ The presentation slides from the February session include the entire lesson and audio recordings, allowing you to follow along with the content.
