The Igbo Alphabet, Vowels, Personal Pronouns, Welcoming a Guest Into Your Home, and Conversation Starters

Ndewo! (Hello!) Daalụ (thank you) to everyone who joined the November meeting on Saturday! If you're new to the club, nnọọ (welcome)—we’re thrilled to have you! You’re now part of a growing community of over 700 people who are passionate about preserving Igbo culture through language learning. If you couldn’t attend the session, everything we covered is outlined below.
Here’s what we covered:
🖥️ Slides from the November session: In this session, we had a special guest, Maazị (Mr.) Ojukwu. We reviewed the Igbo alphabet, subject and object pronouns, and our guest demonstrated how to welcome a guest into the home in Igbo. Audio recordings are included in the slides to help you follow along. During breakout rooms, we introduced ourselves, paying special attention to the pronouns used in each sentence.
🗣️Welcoming A Guest Into Your Home Script: The focus of this dialogue is on Igbo pronouns. Pay attention to the use of pronouns throughout the script. I have included both Central Igbo and Anambra Igbo variations of commonly used words in the script.
🎵 New Playlists: Music is a fun and engaging way to learn the Igbo language. I’ve created a playlist on Spotify and Apple Music featuring only Igbo Praise and Worship songs. Enjoy!
